Our espadrilles
In my maternal family, originally from a small town in La Rioja, in northern Spain, several generations have dedicated themselves to making handmade espadrilles.
These are comfortable and lightweight shoes, perfect for warm climates, with a sole made by braiding natural fibers such as esparto grass, jute, or hemp. The upper is made from different fabrics and is manually sewn to the sole. They are traditionally tied at the ankle with cotton ribbons.
Espadrilles have been used in Spain for thousands of years, but it was in the mid-20th century that leading fashion designers reinvented this footwear, using new materials and designs.
My creations are a tribute to my roots. Family tradition has inspired me to explore traditional techniques and reinterpret them with a contemporary twist, such as laser printing.
I prefer to use natural materials and have all kinds of designs; from the most traditional to the most sophisticated.
I add decorative details to the ends of the straps, and the brand logo is always present on the heels, creating a set of details that define the personality of our espadrilles.
They have padded insoles that make our designs comfortable to wear all day long.
Without a doubt, this is a truly authentic and sustainable shoe.
